LanMate Extension Privacy Policy

Operated by Hangzhou Jianlan Zhiwei Technology Co., Ltd. · Updated October 12, 2026

This policy covers the LanMate browser extension and related task processing by the LanBridge client and services. Its single purpose is to connect LanBridge to browser pages specified in tasks you initiate and authorize.

Data processed

Page content may include identifying, health, financial, payment, authentication, communication, or location data. Forms and images may contain it too. Review task scope and avoid unnecessary sensitive information. The extension does not request the browsing-history API, but reading tab URLs and page content still processes browsing activity and user data.

Local connections and online models

The extension connects directly to LanBridge on the same computer: Native Messaging on Windows and local WebSocket restricted to 127.0.0.1 on Mac. It does not call online models directly. The client may send task text, images, action results, and context to LanBridge services or the selected model provider.

When using LanBridge's official model service, LanBridge processes task requests and sends them to the task's assigned model service. Custom models receive data through your configured provider and API address; LanBridge relays requests for cross-device custom models. Review your custom provider and its data policy before configuring or using it.

Supported model recipients include Zhipu AI, Moonshot Kimi, DeepSeek, Alibaba Cloud Model Studio, Volcano Engine, OpenAI, Google Gemini, xAI, and other compatible services you explicitly configure. Recipients depend on your task model and settings; each task is not sent to every provider. Online providers may process data in their service regions, with retention governed by their API contracts, account settings, and privacy policies.

Web actions you initiate may submit your specified form contents or other data to target websites. Those websites process submissions under their own policies.

Purpose and Limited Use

Extension data is used to provide these browser task features and their necessary connections, security, troubleshooting, and reliability improvements. Our use of Google API information follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including Limited Use requirements.

We do not sell extension data or use it for personalized advertising, data brokerage, or credit and lending assessment. Data shared with service providers is limited to disclosed functions or legal and security needs. Transfers involving mergers, acquisitions, or asset sales require prior explicit consent. Human access is limited to your specific support consent, internal aggregated anonymous data, security investigations, or legal requirements.

Saving and deletion

The extension keeps page connections and action sessions in memory. The client and server may retain task descriptions, steps, results, model continuation state, and usage for recovery, history, and usage checks. Audit screenshots stay on the execution device; server screenshot uploads are disabled by default.

“Delete” in task history hides a conversation without immediately erasing server records. By default, completed, failed, and cancelled tasks are removed 30 days after ending; tasks awaiting replies are removed after 30 days of inactivity, checked every 6 hours. Cleanup removes task content and associated process data, retaining only a minimal receipt without task content so the app can report expired records accurately. Daily usage totals without task content may be retained for quota control.

Local audit records and screenshots are not automatically deleted when server records expire. View them under “Local records” in the app. The default local audit capacity is 512 MiB; at capacity, new records pause and old records are not automatically removed.

Uninstalling the extension does not delete downloaded files, local task files, data submitted to websites, or data retained by model providers. Stopping tasks does not undo completed actions. Request access, correction, or deletion of personal data through the email below; legally required retention and third-party processing follow their applicable requirements.

Security and user choices

Local communication and online model requests are handled separately. Production external traffic uses secure connections such as HTTPS; local WebSocket accepts only loopback connections from the same computer.

LanBridge's confirmation flow manages page scope and action authorization. You can decline authorization, stop tasks in the app, or disable or uninstall the extension. Page reading is covered by this policy even when processing stays on your computer.
