Connect LanMate to your browser
LanMate support is a companion extension for LanBridge. During tasks you initiate and authorize, it helps locate Chrome or Edge tabs, read pages, fill forms, click controls, and verify downloads.
Install and run LanBridge on the same Windows or Mac computer. The extension connects locally and cannot provide AI alone. With online models, required page contents and images may be sent through the app to LanBridge services and the model provider.
Installation and connection
Install LanMate Support from the Chrome Web Store
Store and bundled manually loaded versions are updated separately. For manual installation, see the tutorial in the app.
- Download LanBridge desktop, sign in, and open LanMate.
- Install and enable LanMate support in the browser you want to use.
- Start a task in the app, review page, action, and file scope, and confirm to begin.
Desktop Edge also supports installation from the Chrome Web Store; you may need to allow extensions from other stores. A Chrome listing does not automatically create an Edge Add-ons listing.
Why permissions are needed
- Browser debugging:Read the target page's structure and images and perform authorized actions. The browser may show a debugging notice.
- Tabs:Locate, activate, or open task pages by title and URL.
- Download:Verify progress and results of this web download.
- Local app communication:Connects to LanBridge Native Messaging Host on Windows, and through a local 127.0.0.1 channel on Mac.
- Background connection:On Windows, lets the browser start without a window when you sign in and maintain its LanBridge connection after browser windows close, subject to browser background settings and organization policies. Explicitly quitting the browser or disabling the extension stops the connection. Reading and operating web pages still requires task authorization.
- Connection recovery:On Windows and Mac, periodically wakes the extension to reconnect when all local connections are interrupted. Periodic wake-ups stop once any connection is restored and do not read page content.
Stopping and data processing
You can stop tasks in LanBridge or disable or uninstall the extension in your browser. Stopping does not undo clicks, submissions, or downloads, or delete saved task records. For task content, model recipients, and retention, seeExtension privacy policy。
Connection issues and support
Confirm LanBridge is running and the extension is enabled, then recheck the connection in the app. If it still fails, contact support@lanbridge.cc, including your browser version, LanBridge version, and steps to reproduce. Only diagnostics or attachments you choose to submit are used for support.
